Chamorro Seafaring Workshop
The Guam CAHA invites all Guam master navigators, seafarers, and college students to its annual bi-weekly Chamorro Seafaring Workshop. This event will present modern and past proas and galaides, infrastructure and process of crafting them, and demonstration of navigation. Sponsored by the Guam Museum, Guam Visitors' Bureau, and UOG.

Governor Eddie Calvo will be holding a State of the Island (SOTI) Address on Wednesday, August 31st at 6 p.m. at the Governor's Complex near the Latte of Freedom. Among the topics that will be covered include the current financial statuses of GMHA and GRMC, the military buildup, tourism, and more. This event is open to the general public. Coastal Awareness and Appreciation Week
This week following the 2016 Coastal Cleanup, the Guam Environmental Protection Agency will be hosting its first annual Coastal Awareness and Appreciation Week at various GDOE middle and high schools. GEPA will be showcasing a variety of presentations, including Coral Bleaching Awareness, Haggan Watch, and much more. Find out more »20th Annual Coastal Cleanup
Every year Guam participates in the International Coastal Cleanup organized by the Ocean Conservancy. The cleanup will be from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2016. Families and groups of all ages are encouraged to attend. Coastal Cleanup is the largest volunteer event in Guam. The cleanup is organized by the Guam Coastal Management Program of the Bureau of Statistics and Plans.
